What is TMS
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive, outpatient procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain.
During the treatment, a small coil is placed on the patient’s head and painless magnetic pulses are sent to the targeted area of the brain. This stimulation can improve symptoms of depression and OCD.
TMS is a safe and well-tolerated treatment option that does not require any anesthesia or surgery. TMS treatment typically involves daily sessions over several weeks and patients can resume their normal activities immediately following each session.
